Commission on Human Rights partners with UA&P

The Center for Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines (CHRP) organized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony between the University of Asia and the Pacific Foundation, Inc., (UA&PFI) and CHRP last December 15, 2016 at the Telengtan Hall. The signing of the MOA signified the commencement of  the “Development of Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ESCR) Monitoring and Reporting Tools Applying the O-Pe-R-A Framework,” a project to be undertaken by CSR, in collaboration with the ESCR Center of CHRP.

The programme started with the welcome remarks of Prof. Colin Hubo, Executive Director of CSR. Commissioner Leah Armamento, who represented CHRP,  also gave a message on the partnership of CHRP with UA&P. Atty. Jesus Torres, Head of the ESCR Center of CHRP, provided a brief explanation on the development of ESCR Monitoring and Reporting Tools as a breakthrough program of the ESCR center of CHRP.  The programme ended with closing remarks from Dr. Winston Padojinog, President of UA&P.

Present during the event were the regional directors of the CHRP, members of the Management Committee of UA&P, representatives from the embassies of the United States of America, and Kingdom of the Netherlands.  Representatives from CSR’s partner companies, First Philippine Holdings, and Ayala Corporation, also graced the event.
